We saw a real life tanuki last night in the park.
Unfortunately we did not get a picture because it was waddling away rather quickly and was only crossing the path for a moment. However, here is a picture we found online of what it looked like:
Also known as a raccoon dog. But that wouldn't have sounded nearly as cool for Super Mario Brothers. |
I want to believe.
ps. two people trying to write one small blog post is complicated. also, index fingers are more useful for typing/life than you realize before you can't use them.
I thought tanuki just meant badger. It's a specific animal?
ReplyDeleteAlso, the p.s. was hilarious.
yess, it's a specific animal. i don't know that they are related to badgers at all. From the wikipedia page that appears when you search tanuki: "Tanuki" is often somewhat mistakenly translated as raccoon or badger into English, animals which are similar to tanuki (which is a canine) in appearance, but actually belong to different Carnivora families.
ReplyDeleteso there you go :\
that was supposed to be a won face. \\\\
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool. I want one as a pet :)
